Owned and
operated by the Tsakos Group and strategically situated in a natural
bay in the Port of Montevideo only five minutes from the center of the
city, Tsakos Industrias Navales is one of the largest shipyards in the region
and provides reliable, cost-effective and comprehensive ship repair
services to merchant vessels plying South Atlantic trading routes and to
the South Atlantic operating fishing fleets.
A modern floating dock of 200x40x16 meters with a 32-metre internal
breadth and 20,000 ton lifting capacity can accommodate vessels up to
75,000 dwt for dry docking, repair, maintenance and conversion works. A
smaller dock of 60x18x10 meters with a 14-metre internal breadth allows
the yard to attend dry docking and repairs of small vessels inside
flexible work schedules. Newbuilding and conversion projects are undertaken for
coasters, trawlers, tugboats, dredgers and other craft.
A skilled workforce backed up by first class workshops offers a large
range of services and flying squads are on call for any voyage afloat
repairs. Specialized services developed at Tsakos Industrias Navales
include mechanical, electrical and steel repairs; blasting and coating
of internal tank surfaces - the full range of support equipment includes
dehumidifiers, dust collectors and grit removal machinery - services for
which the Yard has won a solid reputation for excellent quality and
on-time delivery to clients worldwide.
Through its exclusive representations for Wartsila NSD, Sulzer, Elf, N. Katradis,
Ellicott, Ethyl, Niigatta and other major international suppliers, the
Yard offers reliable and professional services to clients' full
satisfaction. In recognition of the excellence of its engine repair
works, Tsakos Industrias Navales is the authorized repairer for MAN B&W,
Wartsila NSD and Yanmar marine engines.
The Yard also owns a modern cutter suction dredger (IHC Beaver) able to
dredge up to 14 mts. depth.
